Hockey Heroes Weekend

Inspired by Nova Scotia’s hockey heritage, the Hockey Heroes Weekend brought guests on a journey through the history of hockey, with a focus on Nova Scotia.  From hockey’s early beginnings as hurley on a Windsor pond to the modern-day national sport that now takes its seat in Montreal, guests enjoyed a trip through time that pays tribute to its patrons, its inspirations and, most importantly, the fans of the modern day game.

Building on the success of the 2011 event, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia  put their hearts into providing the average fan an opportunity to play with former NHL greats, all while immersing them in a living history tribute to the ‘good ole hockey game’ Canadians hold near and dear.  The three day event took place in Halifax, NS on April 20th-22nd, 2012, and in NB on June 1st-3rd, 2012.  Both events included a Friday Night Draft Face-off & Power Play, Qualifier Games, finishing with Championship Finals and NHL Alumni All Star Heroes Game.  This was a fundraising event for the true hockey fan!
