The fourth Halifax Connects will be held on June 10, 2012, at Citadel High School.  This bi-annual event hosted by Shelter Nova Scotia, welcomes anyone who may be facing housing challenges and homelessness.  It’s a day of free services including a served, white linen lunch with live music.  Guests of Halifax Connects are welcome to ask questions and participate in many different services including, haircuts, foot and wound care, doctor appointments, and flu shots.  From suits, to women’s and children’s clothing, to books and portraits, guests choose from an array of free services; a one-stop-shop.  Last October, over 800 people participated in the full-day service affair.  The event was considered a complete success by participants and volunteers alike, and almost immediately, people began talking about “the next one.”
